Medicare Part A (Hospital) and Part B (Doctor), also known as Original Medicare, is available to those 65 years of age or older, as well as those under 65 with a qualifying exception.
Provided by the federal government, it covers some of the costs associated with hospital and doctor services but not all. Original Medicare does not include prescription drug coverage (Part D).

Medicare Advantage, or Part C, commonly referred to as Medicare Complete, combines the services covered under Original Medicare Part A and Part B into one single plan.
Most plans include Prescription Drug Coverage (Part D) and often offer additional benefits not provided by Original Medicare, such as prescription drugs and much more.
A Medicare Supplement Insurance (Medigap) plan helps pay some of the out-of-pocket health care costs that are not covered under Original Medicare Parts A and B.
Medigap policies don't cover everything, such as long-term care, vision, or dental care. Plans offered today do not include any prescription drug coverage.
